 What to Expect During Your

                                First Bowen Session

In order to provide you with the best possible experience, please read this page and come fully prepared for your first Bowen session.

 

Before You Meet with Me for the First Time:

  • Fill out the Client Information Form, Waiver and Liability Release Form & Refund Policy Form. (Click here to go to the Forms page.) 
  • Make sure to drink plenty of water
  • Wear comfortable, loose fitting clothing (Shorts are ideal for men and women. Women should consider wearing a sports bra or even a swimsuit.)
  • If coming straight from work, feel free to bring more comfortable clothing to change into.

 

During the Session:

Your first session will be designed so that I can learn about your body's healing needs by performing a series of evaluations. The goal is to identify problem areas, which will be addressed during future sessions, while promoting relaxation and harmony within the body. The first session will set the body up to promote a healing environment for future sessions.

Your health and well-being are my primary concerns. If at anytime you feel faint, nauseous, sick or uneasy please let me know immediately. If such an event occurs we will promptly end our session. If this happens, that’s ok! Sometimes the body is in such distress that it can not handle a full Bowen session on the first visit.

 

After the Session:

  • Be sure to keep drinking water to keep yourself hydrated. This is essential to setting the work and eliminating toxins after your Bowen session. 
  • Keep the energy flowing by walking around. If you are normally sedentary in the evening, you may want to get up every 30-60 minutes and just walk around the house a few minutes.

 

It is imperative that you wait 5-7 days before having any other body work done. This includes extremely hot baths, massages, acupuncture and chiropractic. Any of these other modalities may interfere with your end results.

 

Get a good nights sleep! Sleep is another main component in "setting the work" and getting the best possible results from your Bowen session.
